I'm not ill-informed. To objectify is to make some thing into a particular type of object in such a way to ignore or deny their full humanity. You're restricting this to sexual objectification, and intentionally limiting the definition of "object."

There is a difference between understanding the definition of a word and understanding how that word and the connotations thereof fit into a particular context of discussion.
