First of all, it’s clear you think I’m a POC and I cannot believe you’d have the audacity to lecture a POC this way about Whiteness as if you know better. Like, it is fucking astonishing to me.
Newsflash: when your opinions are incredibly inflammatory and privileged, people are going to get mad at you.
Newsflash #2: Institutionalized racism IS NOT A THING THAT CAN HURT WHITE PEOPLE. I don’t care if your feelings are hurt, I really do not. My feelings have been hurt, too, and you know what? It’s IRRELEVANT. It has LITERALLY NO BEARING on the conversation whatsoever.
Also, just to say it: I’m white. I benefit immensely from white privilege. I was raised with unconscious beliefs about POC that were ingrained in me by the media and our society and by my family’s unconscious racism, which was also ingrained and encouraged in them by our media and society, and probably their families. And so on.
I’m white, I could not disagree with you more, and I firmly believe that white people as a general rule and especially when dealing with issues of race fucking suck and have sucked for centuries on end. You have done literally nothing with this message but reinforce that belief.
