medicare is for poverty.
cash?
why don’t you just list all the programs.

Er…does this take into account population increase, cost of living increase, etc?  This graph seems….I don’t know.  I feel like this is designed to make people see only the increase in welfare without asking questions.

Heritage-after-dark, someone is doubting your graph.
how do I get “cash” aid?

Duh.

(TANF and other assistance programs are sometimes referred to as “cash assistance”)
(graph is still dumb though)

I’d rather be spending a trillion dollars to give people in poverty help with housing, health care, and food aid instead of giving the military 2.1 trillion dollars to pay for more drones and shit like Mitt Romney wants to do.

The Heritage Foundation is ultra-conservative and hella biased, so there’s also that.

Weightlifter Sarah Robles is an incredible athlete, but outside the world of squats and snatches, barely anyone knows her name. And even though she’s the U.S.’s best chance at an Olympic medal, she’ll never get the fame or fortune that come so easily to her fellow athletes — in part because, at 5 feet, 10.5 inches and 275 pounds, she doesn’t fit the ideal of thin, toned athletic beauty. - Jessica Testa

The Strongest Woman In America Lives In Poverty

Sarah Robles is ranked higher than any other American weightlifter, male or female. She’s the best hope the U.S. has at an Olympic medal in the sport — but she struggles to pay her rent.

(this quote from Sarah kind of breaks my heart: ““I still have bad thoughts about myself, but I’ve learned that you have to love yourself the way you are,” Robles says. “I may look like this, but I’m in the Olympics because of the way I am.”)

You guys, someone has set up an an indiegogo donations page here! She does not deserve to feel inadequate for her strengths or her body.

I was wondering if she had a donation page last night. Definitely an athlete worth of support who isn’t getting it from sponsors because of how she looks. Boosting the signal.

If someone knows of one, please point me at it.
